Data & Privacy – The Camly Standard.
Last Updated: May 03, 2026
At Camly, we are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the highest standards of data security. Unlike many online tools that upload your files to remote servers, Camly is built as a fully client-side application. This architecture ensures that your sensitive assets never leave the safety of your own device.
1. Core Privacy Philosophy
Camly was founded with a clear mission: to provide professional-grade image and PDF editing tools without the "privacy tax." In a digital landscape where data breaches and unauthorized data collection for AI training are common, we chose a different path. By designing Camly as a privacy-first, client-side only platform, we effectively eliminate the primary vulnerability point: the server-side upload.
This comprehensive Data & Privacy page explains the technical and legal frameworks we use to protect you. We encourage all users — whether students, professionals, or global organizations — to review these standards.
2. Technical Architecture
Our "Zero-Knowledge" architecture ensures that the tool comes to your data, rather than your data traveling to the tool. We achieve this using three foundational web technologies:
Runs highly optimized code at near-native speeds directly in your browser. This allows complex PDF resampling and image filtering to happen on your local CPU/GPU.
Your files exist only in your device's RAM while the browser tab is active. Once the tab is closed, the data is physically purged from memory, leaving no digital footprint.
The editing process triggers zero outbound network requests containing pixel data or document content. Your internet connection is only used to load the tool itself.
We utilize HTML5 Canvas and WebGL to perform real-time visual adjustments, ensuring that high-resolution assets are processed smoothly without server-side lag.
3. Information Collection Details
3.1 User-Generated Content
Camly collects zero images, PDFs, or editing results. We do not have "shadow storage," "temp disks," or "backup servers" for your data. Your files are treated as ephemeral streams that exist only within the context of your active session.
3.2 Personal Data (PII)
No account creation is required to use Camly. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any government-issued identification details for the use of our editor.
3.3 Tracking & Cookies
Camly is a zero-tracking platform. We do not use persistent tracking cookies, behavioral analytics pixels, or cross-site fingerprinting technologies. Your browsing history remains private.
4. Data We Explicitly Do Not Store
5. Rights Under Global Privacy Laws
Camly is designed for compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation. As we do not process your creative files on our servers, we satisfy the principle of "Data Minimization" by default. Users retain all rights to access, rectification, erasure, and restriction of any technical metadata logged by our hosting providers.
We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by California law. Because we don't collect PII for using our tools, your "Right to Know" and "Right to Delete" are natively protected. We offer a non-discriminatory service to all users regardless of their privacy choices.
Camly respects the provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. We serve as a tool provider that prioritizes the user's right to consent and clarity. Any technical logs required for operational security are handled according to the strictest interpretation of the act's storage limitation principles.
6. Data Security Measures
Our production environment is hardened with SSL/TLS encryption, distributed firewall architecture, and continuous vulnerability scanning. However, your primary security comes from our Zero-Upload design.
7. Data Retention
Technical logs (such as IP addresses and browser headers) are retained for a maximum of 30 days for debugging and security audits, after which they are irreversibly deleted or anonymized.
8. Third-Party Disclosures
We do not disclose your information to any third parties for marketing purposes. We only use trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, CDN) who are bound by strict data processing agreements.
9. Children's Privacy
Camly is safe for users of all ages. Because we do not collect personal identifiers or track behavior, we do not create profiles of minors or violate COPPA/GDPR-K principles.
